Privacy
Your information
What we collect through this website, why, where it goes and what you can ask us to do.
When you send a message
We collect what you type: your name, phone number, email if you give one, who the class is for, suburb, how they get about, and your message. Some of this can be health information, which the law treats as sensitive, so we ask for your consent and collect only what helps us find a suitable class.
Only Mel can see messages. We use them to reply and to arrange classes. We do not sell your details or add you to a mailing list without asking.
Messages are stored in a database run by Cloudflare. We keep them only as long as we need them to reply and arrange classes, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
When you use the family helper
We do not store your questions or the answers. To answer, your question is sent to Anthropic (the company that makes the Claude AI model, based in the United States), and search words are sent to Europe PMC, ClinicalTrials.gov and a web search service.
To stop misuse we keep a count of how many questions come from each connection, stored only as a scrambled code, for no more than two days.
The question box may use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly check that the visitor is a person and not a robot. It does not ask you to solve puzzles in most cases.
Please do not type names, addresses or other details that identify anyone.
The monthly email
If you leave your email for the monthly update, we keep it (and your first name, if you give it) only to send that update. Until the update starts, your details are kept with other enquiries. When it starts, every email will have an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove your details at any time through the contact page.
On your device
Your text size and contrast choices are remembered in your own browser, not sent to us. What you type into the printable sheets and the playlist builder stays on the page: it is not saved or sent anywhere. To work offline, the site saves the guides, the sheets and pages you visit on your device (not playlist results for a birth year). Clearing your browser data removes them.
Videos come from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) and only load when you press Play. Playlist links open YouTube or Spotify, which have their own privacy policies.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your details. Contact us using the details on the contact page.
